Guide us toward a potential Kappa

We want to know if there’s an outstanding woman who would make a great Kappa. Tell us about her by using Kappa’s online reference system. Only members of Kappa Kappa Gamma may submit a reference. If you are an undergraduate member, your reference must be for a potential new member at a different school than where you attend.

To submit a reference visit www.kappa.org/references and log in. The online system submits references directly to the Membership Team.

We appreciate your help in building the future of Kappa.

Recruitment FAQs

What is a Legacy?

A legacy is the sister, daughter, granddaughter, or great-granddaughter of an initiated Kappa. We give careful consideration to legacies, but there are often more who want to join than there are openings, so not all legacies are extended a bid to membership.

What are the Grade Requirements for Membership?

Kappa requires at least a “B+” average if entering from high school or “B-” average if a PNM has completed a university or college term.

Does Kappa Kappa Gamma and NPC have Guidelines for Alumnae during Recruitment?

  • Once Recruitment has started, alumna and active members from other campuses must NOT contact chapter members to inquire about a PNM’s progress.
  • Alumnae should neither expect to receive any information about the status of a specific potential new member nor expect to receive bid list information.
  • Alumnae are prohibited from sending food or gifts in any form to the chapter on behalf of a potential new member.
  • Violation of Panhellenic rules by alumnae may cause the chapter to be sanctioned.

How May I Submit a Reference?

The reference form is now online. Go to www.kappakappagamma.org/references (you must be logged in) and follow the simple instructions.

When are References Due?

Each Kappa chapter has various deadlines. Visit www.Kappa.org to search for a chapter to find out their deadlines. In Oklahoma, references for Beta Theta (OU) are due mid-July, references for Delta Sigma (OSU) are due mid-July, and references for Delta Pi (TU) are due early August.
